WWE SmackDown Spoilers for 8/24/12 featuring Booker T’s decision on Alberto Del Rio’s formal protest that was filed as a result of the controversial finish to Del Rio’s World Heavyweight Championship match vs. Sheamus at SummerSlam:
Booker T wastes no time and books Randy Orton vs. Alberto Del Rio in a Number 1 Contender’s match for the World Heavyweight Championship as the main event for tonight’s show.
Match 1. Ryback def. Jinder Mahal
Match 2. Layla def. Alicia Fox in the greatest match of all-time
Match 3. Heath Slater def. Sin Cara with help from Cody Rhodes
FYI: Michael Cole is on commentary with special guests throughout the broadcast, due to Kane’s attack on Josh Matthews from SummerSlam.
Match 4. Sheamus def. Dolph Ziggler via Disqualification. Vickie was on commentary.
Match 5. Kofi Kingston and R-Truth def. Epico and Primo. Truth got the pin and the Primetime Players were on commentary.
Match 6. Alberto Del Rio def. Randy Orton to regain his No. 1 contender status and earn his title rematch against Sheamus. Sheamus was on commentary and attacked Del Rio after the match but Alberto got the upper hand. Del Rio softened up Sheamus enough for Dolph Ziggler to come out and tease a cash-in, but Orton nailed Dolph with an RKO instead to close the show.
