Media, Trailers

Set to play out of competition at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival, the first trailer for Robert Redford’s The Company You Keep has been released.

Based on the Neil Gordon novel of the same name, the film is an investigative thriller into the whereabouts of members of the infamous The Weather Underground organization, which committed a series of bombings (including buildings and banks) beginning in 1969.

The docudrama stars Shia LaBeouf, Robert Redford, Julie Christie, Richard Jenkins, Susan Sarandon, Stephen Root, Sam Elliott, Brendan Gleeson, Terrence Howard, Anna Kendrick and Jackie Evancho. Check out the trailer below and read a brief synopsis.

When Jason Sinai (Redford), one of the last Vietnam-era fugitives still wanted on murder charges for a robbery gone wrong in 1974, encounters a young newspaper reporter (LaBeouf) in search of a story, he must abandon years of safe underground life for the dangerous life of the road — traveling across American and deep into his past.

Sony Pictures Classics has yet to give the film an official date of release.
