WWE Officials End Contract Negotiations With A Top Star

News, Top Story

WWE officials had been negotiating with future Hall of Famer Chris Jericho on a new contract in the recent weeks but it seems as if those talks have fallen through.

The main disagreement is believed to be the amount of dates Jericho would be working and what type of outside opportunities Jericho could pursue. In the end, WWE wanted Jericho to be a WWE wrestler first and then everything else after whereas Jericho wanted to at least split his time 50/50.

The Observer is reporting that Jericho was open to returning as early as this month… had WWE agreed to his terms. He was looking to work 40 to 50 dates per year, however, he would determine the periods when he worked and would be strictly unavailable during tours, which WWE was not in favor of.
