Marvel NOW! Spoilers: What Happened To Cable?

Spoilers

The last time we saw Cable, at the end of X-Sanction, he was catatonic but fully human. Well, fully mutant, but there was no techno virus. You know, the condition that gave him his trademark cyber arm and eye.

So it was setting up a brand new era for Cable, promising that once he came out of his coma he’d potentially be able to access his full power again (remember Jesus Cable?). I, as a Cable fan, was excited for that. Thing is, we haven’t seen the Askani’son since, and save for a mention of him not being on Utopia after AVX, all we really had to go on was the fact that there’s a new book called Cable and X-Force, which, you know, kind of a dead give away.

So what’s his deal now? Well, in Marvel NOW! Point One, there was a story where Forge found and fixed a machine, unleashing a giant brain, and in the end he wound up containing it…only for it all to fade away. He fixed himself, his insanity, and Cable is waiting there for him. Whether or not he pushed Forge into fixing his own brain isn’t made completely clear, but he has need of the techno guru of all things X-Men. He needs an arm.

Because what the hell happened to his? I mean, they were clear not to show it in X-Sanction to leave it semi vague, but we saw his hand and it was giant.

So we’re going to have Cable with a cybernetic arm and no techno virus? Sweet! That’s the best of both worlds!
