Anderson Silva To Be Cageside At UFC 154 – Challenging GSP Potentially?

News

To add into more intrigue for UFC 154 (Georges St. Pierre vs. Carlos Condit) Ariel Helwani reported on FUEL TV last night that Anderson Silva, notorious for his love of privacy, will be cageside for next weekend’s PPV fights. Why will he be there?

To challenge GSP if he wins, potentially.

Per MMA Fighting:

Silva’s manager, Jorge Guimaraes, hinted to MMAFighting.com’s Ariel Helwani on the Tuesday night edition of Fuel TV’s UFC tonight that a challenge is forthcoming if St-Pierre defeats Condit.

Asked why Silva, who isn’t known to often show up at fights other than his own, is heading to Montreal, Gumaraes said “maybe to challenge GSP if he beats Condit.”

Commentary: If you’re going to announce what could be the biggest fight in MMA history doing it at a PPV is a heckuva way to do it. Personally I’d love to see Silva grab the microphone from Joe Rogan and go “GSP, I’m not impressed with your performance. This spring, Cowboys Stadium.” And then just drop it like a pipe bomb.
