Pages from Amazing Spider-Man #698 have been circling the ‘net since Monday, but we at Comics Nexus decided to hold off on printing anything until the day of the issue’s release.
All I can say is WOW. Writer Dan Slott is a mad genius. I now can’t wait for Amazing Spider-Man #700 and Superior Spider-Man #1.

This is very much a great kick off to a new status quo for Spider-Man. I was reminded of the big surprise twist at the end of Kurt Busiek and Mark Bagley Thunderbolts #1 fifteen years ago, because, well, it WAS a big surprise. Amazing Spider-Man #698 is this generation’s Thunderbolts #1. And, I mean that in most flattering of ways.
