Paramount Pictures has released the announcement teaser for J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek Into Darkness. A longer teaser trailer will be available online the Monday following The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey‘s opening weekend.
Remember that IMAX 3D screens showing Peter Jackson’s return to Middle Earth will be preceded by 9 minutes of Star Trek Into Darkness.
Opening in 3D, 2D and IMAX 3D theaters on May 17, 2013, the film stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, John Cho, Bruce Greenwood, Simon Pegg, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Anton Yelchin, Benedict Cumberbatch, Alice Eve and Peter Weller.
Now the Japanese version of the same teaser has also been uploaded to the iTunes Movie Trailers website and it contains an additional 14 seconds of footage, including a final shot that is a great callback for longtime Star Trek fans.
