Viewers Guide To The Undercard – Fights To Watch On UFC on FX 6, The Ultimate Fighter Finale (Season 16)

Previews

Unless someone pulls a Tim Means and trips in the sauna this weekend before weigh-ins there’s any number of undercard fights well worth tuning into Facebook or Fuel TV to  watch.  A couple of significant fights didn’t make it onto their respective main cards; here are a handful to watch out for.

Chad Mendes vs. Yaotzin Meza – I have no idea who Meza is but I do know that Mendes is probably the #2 featherweight in the world right now.  After brow-beating Cody McKenzie he gets a guy who doesn’t have a Wikipedia page.  Yeah … this looks like it won’t end well.

Mike Pierce vs. Seth Baczynski – Mike Pierce is a couple of split decisions away from being a Top 5 fighter in the welterweight division, crazy as it seems.  You could argue he beat Koscheck and Hendricks in losses and he was competitive in a loss to Jon Fitch.  Baczynski is a prospect on the up and up who is one of the bigger fighters in the division and always brings the violence.  A win here for either guy and there could be a big fight in their future.

Ben Alloway vs. Manuel Rodriguez – In two TUF seasons airing this fall these are the only fighters to earn a spot on the finale that didn’t make it to the finals.  That’s crazy … and the pressure is on for both men to deliver on it.

Tim Elliot vs. Jared Papazian – Flyweights are never boring fights and Elliott has looked pretty solid so far in the UFC.

Mike Pyle vs. James Head – Good enough to be on a main card and is the TUF 16 Finale’s version of Baczynski vs. Pye.
