The Rock Begins WrestleMania 29 Hype Ahead of His Monday Night Raw Return Tonight, Says He Will Headline Mania

News, Top Story

In an interview with Matt Fowler at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour, The Rock began hyping WrestleMania 29 while promoting his upcoming TNT series “The Hero”. On WrestleMania and his return to Raw tonight, The Rock said, “The storyline will be that starting this coming Monday [for RAW], I’m gonna go back, and it’s going to be a big return … That will lead to, hopefully, what will be the biggest WrestleMania of all time at Giants Stadium. I will headline that show, with someone who I can’t say right now. We’ve got an amazing four months lined up and planned out that will culminate in the biggest WrestleMania of all time. It’s going to be a hell of a thing.”

CB’s Slant: It’s interesting that Rock says the next four months is “lined up and planned out” especially since rumors are starting to buzz that The Undertaker has handpicked CM Punk as his opponent for WrestleMania. If anything, a solid four-month plan would simply let Rock and Punk go back and forth and offer up a solid build to Mania, but it looks like that something else might be in the works. Obviously, we’ll find out soon enough, starting with tonight’s huge edition of Raw.
