At Least It Wasn’t A Rape Joke, Right? Ronda Rousey Tweets Sandy Hook Conspiracy Video, Hilarity Doesn’t Ensue

News

As always Twitter seems to be a more … amusing … medium for professional fighters. Ronda Rousey, poster girl for women’s MMA and soon to be UFC headliner, posted a provocative link to a video on her Twitter feed. After talking about Sex in nearly every major mainstream forum she opted to tackle something aimed at higher than the usual “low information voter” type: the Sandy Hook Massacre.

Not to be outdone, she double-downed with internet personality BloodStain Lane.

Kubryk’s Take: Twitter has become a rather amusing entity for professional fighters. Miguel Torres and his love of rape jokes hastened his departure from the UFC most famously because of something he said on Twitter, of course, and now the soon to be pioneer has joined the “I said something really controversial on Twitter in the last 12 months” club alongside Torres and Forrest Griffin.

In the long run this isn’t going to be a massive deal but now people are going to be discussing Ronda in a much different manner than they did before (when she was just talking about sex).
