Bunheads Episode 1-12 Review – “Channing Tatum is a Fine Actor”

Bunheads-Channing-Tatum-is-a-Fine-Actor-Episode-12-5-550x366As I’d hoped, I liked this second episode of Bunheads better than last week’s. This isn’t a show I’d usually blog about regularly, but I wanted to see what everyone else thought of this one.

I like that the writers have expanded into the local high school, especially if the four girls are going to be as much of a focus of the show as Michelle is. I’m not quite sure what was up with the new brother and sister students, but it was funny. (Was it a Twilight reference? Weren’t the Twilight family people good at everything? I don’t know. I have never seen or read Twilight.) I like how the dynamic among the girls is growing – the reactions of the other three when Boo brought up their pact to tell one another immediately after having sex was very telling.

Boo’s relationship with Carl is weird and sweet, just like she is. I loved her desperate attempt to please his mother by agreeing with everything she said.

Michelle’s storyline was weird and funny, and I enjoyed seeing Liza Weil as Truly’s sister even if I did still think of her as Paris Gellar. She looks exactly the same. There was no Fanny in this episode, but with Truly as a foil for Michelle she wasn’t missed. Overall, I thought it was a pleasant episode. What did you guys think?
