Why did Vince McMahon take an F5 from Brock Lesnar on Raw Last Week? What Led to the Surgery?

News, Top Story

Brock Lesnar giving WWE CEO Vince McMahon the F5 last Monday on Raw was specifically designed to get McMahon off television so he could have hip surgery.

The obvious question is why McMahon would want to put himself at-risk if he knew he was going in for hip surgery. McMahon’s reported attitude was, ‘Well, if I get hurt, I’m going to go under the knife anyway, so they can fix up any new injuries.”

Sources say McMahon’s surgery will be similar to The Undertaker’s procedures fixing the top of the hip joint. It’s not a full hip replacement, but more than just “fixing a problem.”

One of the likely contributors to why McMahon needs surgery is because he continues to do squats in the gym. Because McMahon is a fanatic about his exercise routine, it has caused wear and tear on McMahon’s hips, especially at his age (67).
