CB’s Slant: Brock Lesnar Being Booked Right This Time Around

Columns, Top Story

Over the past two weeks of Monday Night Raw, one thing has become perfectly clear: Brock Lesnar — the REAL Brock Lesnar, the Next Big Thing, the Asskicker — is back. This isn’t the Brock Lesnar that was told to ramble nonsensically during a contract signing with John Cena, nor is it the Brock Lesnar who was told to quit via TOUT.

Instead, we are seeing Brock Lesnar as he should be booked. When Lesnar’s music hits, everyone (and everything, including Miz TV couches) in the ring better leave as quickly as they can before it’s took late. For when he enters the squared circle and is staring at you face to face, it’s already too late and your fate is sealed. Why?

Because this is Brock Lesnar in his purest form, and not even Paul Heyman can control him. In fact, Heyman has done AMAZING work over the past two weeks in his role as the over-the-top apologetic (or is he?) promoter/manager after Lesnar does his damage, and when you combine this latest nuance to Heyman’s character along with being the mafia-like leader of The Shield and all of his work with CM Punk during his historic WWE title reign, well, you can say that Heyman has become true appointment television in his own right.

My point is that WWE has booked Brock Lesnar perfectly since his return, and being that this is the Road to WrestleMania, I can only hope they continue to be inspired enough creatively to get this one right.

After all, you don’t even need to be all that creative to keep Lesnar exactly as he is right now…

…WWE superstars — and furniture — beware.
