TOY FAIR 2013 AWARDS! Best Action Figure!

Top Story

Welcome to the third and final day of the TOY FAIR 2013 AWARDS! To kick things off, we have Best Action Figure.

This was a hard one to narrow down, especially since, for the most part, we are not able to hold the figures, and get a grasp of articulation and pliability. We are stuck with just how the figure looks. While there were a handful of eye-bulging new figures, the new Star Wars Black line is responsible for the winner.

Even though he is a character from the Prequel Trilogy, Darth Maul has become an iconic character for the whole Star Wars galaxy. His iconic red & black face, and double-bladed light saber will likely stand the test of time. However, aside from a few statues & unposeable figurines, it seemed like we would forever be doomed with a small scale 3 3/4″ figure. That is, until last week.

The Star Wars Black line is a fresh start for Hasbro, and will bring us quality 6″ figures of some of the finest Star Wars characters. Maul comes with all the bells and whistled you would expect, including a removable cloak to reenact the moments leading up to the famous light saber duel to close out Episode I. It seems as if the articulation is there (again, no touchies), and Hasbro has made huge strides in that department with the re-launch of Marvel Legends last year, so I would anticipate the articulation on that level.

Wrap all that up in a pretty box, and I give you the Best Action Figure of Toy Fair 2013!
