Jacob Volkmann cut from the UFC

News

The UFC has cut lightweight Jacob Volkmann from their roster following his loss to Bobby Green at UFC 156 this month. Volkmann announced the news on his Twitter page on Tuesday evening.

Volkmann exits the UFC with a 6-4 record. He has a 15-4 record overall. He dropped his first two fights inside the octagon, but following a move from welterweight down to lightweight, Volkmann racked up five straight wins. However, losses in two of his last three fights in a very crowded UFC lightweight division has brought Volkmann’s run to an end.

His six UFC wins came over Shane Roller, Ronys Torres, Paul Kelly, Antonio McKee, Efrain Escudero and Danny Castillo.
