Yesterday, and probably still feeling the sting of the opening-day grosses of Jack the Giant Slayer, director Bryan Singer sent out a tweet regarding the addition of Omar Sy to the cast of 20th Century Fox’s X-Men Days of Future Past. Sy, winner of the Cesar Award for his performance in The Intouchables, is the last in a stream of tweets from Singer with regards to casting the sequel to X-Men: First Class. Sy will join returning stars Anna Paquin (Rogue), Ellen Page (Shadowcat), Shawn Ashmore (Iceman), and Hugh Jackman (Wolverine). Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart will also return as Magneto and Professor Xavier.
No word on what role Sy will play in the film.
X-Men: Days of Future Past is scheduled to hit theaters on July 18, 2014.
