Alistair Overeem Out, Mark Hunt In? Junior Dos Santos Loses UFC 160 Opponent To Injury

News

Could we see another Rally for Mark Hunt? The “Super Samoan” is now asking for Junior Dos Santos at UFC 160 due to the former UFC champion’s opponent, Alistair Overeem, pulling out of the fight due to an undisclosed injury.

He’ll apparently be ready four weeks after, just in time for UFC 161, but no opponent has been named just yet. JDS’s managament, per an interview with Bleacher Report, have stated that they don’t want an extensive wait for his next fight.

Mark Hunt, per his Twitter feed, wants this fight. Hunt, coming off a third round KO of Stefan Struve in Japan, came away from that fight on FUEL TV without an injury and wants an opponent of JDS’s caliber next. And he’s even asked for JDS with the news of Overeem’s injury.

We’ll have more as the story unfolds.
