UFC returns to Seattle in July for UFC On FOX 8

News

On the heels of two successful events over the past two years, the UFC will return to the Key Arena in Seattle this July for UFC On FOX 8. The Seattle Times announced the news on Friday afternoon.

UFC On FOX 8 will take place July 27 with a four-fight main card, and preliminary bouts to air on FX and Facebook.

The Key Arena first hosted a UFC event in March 2011, a UFC Fight Night card headlined by Antonio Rogerio Nogueira vs. Phil Davis. That event was a sellout with an attendance of 13,741 and a gate in excess of $1.1 million. The UFC returned to Seattle this past December for UFC On FOX 5 headlined by Benson Henderson vs. Nate Diaz, and once again sold out the arena. The attendance for that event was 14,387 and the gate exceeded $1.5 million.

UFC On FOX 8 will be the third of four UFC On FOX specials in 2013. The first, UFC On FOX 6, took place in January in Chicago while UFC On FOX 7 takes place next month in San Jose. UFC On FOX 9 will take place on December 14 at a location to be announced later this year.

Fight announcements and ticket information for UFC On FOX 7 are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
