Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated Done With Season 2; No Mystery Inc. Season 3 on Cartoon Network!

News, Shows, Top Story

The last year has not been good for my cartoon TV fandom.

Young Justice Invasion, and Green Lantern The Animated Series, have been cancelled from the DC Nation block on Cartoon Network.

ThunderCATS was cancelled on Cartoon Network.

G.I. Joe Renegades was effectively cancelled on The Hub.

Star The Wars The Clone Wars is concluding on Cartoon Network as Lucasfilm goes in a new direction for its animation.

That’s FIVE (5) all-ages, muti-generational, family TV cartoons wiped out.

Now, Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated (or Mystery Inc.) seems to be following suit. No Season 3 as Season 2 wraps up in 2013.

TV Series Finale reports that Tony Cervone, Supervising Supervisor of the series indicated that the series is done with its 52nd episode. Cervone is quoted as follows:

“There are 11 shows left that will finish the series off at 52 episodes. I’m not sure when they’re coming back. I never know when they’re coming back. If I had to guess, probably in the summer because it usually airs in the summer. But I can’t wait for these last 11 to get out for people to see them because they’re crazy.”

Sad news. However, perhaps a Scooby Doo reboot is in the cards? Afterall, that pup and his friends have been on TV for 40 years across 24 seasons and over 420 episodes.

(Fingers crossed)
