MGM To Reboot Tomb Raider

News, Projects

MGM announced today that it has acquired the film rights to the Tomb Raider video game from GK Films. Both will be working to reboot the movie franchise. Angelina Jolie starred as the titular heroine, Lara Croft, in 2001’s Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and 2003’s Tomb Raider: Cradle of Life.

Both films combined to gross more than $430 million worldwide.

No word on if this film reboot will have a more mature look (a la the recent video game release) compared to the Jolie movies.
