Newest Trailer For Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby Continues To Amaze

“I wish I had done everything on earth with you.” Warner Bros. latest trailer for Baz Luhrmann’s adaptation of the F. Scott Fitzgerald classic is simply perfect. If the first few advertisements left you the wee bit iffy on what Luhrmann has in store, this one should be the one to convince you to see it in theaters (and possibly in 3-D).

With a loaded cast that includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan, Tobey Maguire, and Joel Edgerton, the new trailer is every bit as sumptuous as the previous entries, but here there’s a little more elegance and dazzling visuals. Plus, it should be interesting to see what the public makes of 1920s America with a soundtrack that includes new music by Beyoncé x André 3000, Lana Del Rey and Florence + The Machine.

The Great Gatsby is directed by Baz Luhrmann (of Moulin Rouge and Romeo + Juliet fame). He also co-wrote the adaptation with Craig Pearce. As the story goes, Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire), a Midwesterner now living on Long Island, is drawn into the captivating world of the super rich, their illusions, loves and deceits. Among those he is fascinated by is his neighbor Jay Gatsby (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Gatsby’s blue-blooded rival Tom Buchanan (Joel Edgerton). Caraway also plays witness to Gatsby’s obsession with Buchanan’s wife, Daisy (Carey Mulligan). Jason Clarke, Isla Fisher and Amitabh Bachchan also star. The Great Gatsby hits theaters on May 10th.
