Watch: It’s Hip To Be Huey Lewis, Not Weird Al In This American Psycho Parody

Sometimes you have to tip your hat to the guys at Funny or Die. Whether it is “Between Two Ferns” or comedy videos featuring celebrities you’d never expect to appear in a FoD production, the team knows how to make hilarious, even viral, hits.

So when you have Huey Lewis and “Weird Al” Yankovic riffing an infamous scene from American Psycho, in which Christian Bale’s nutty Patrick Bateman takes an axe to Claire Danes’ love from My So-Called Life, after discussing the merits of Huey Lewis and the News, you just have to watch.

The clip is an almost-perfect copy of the look and choreography of the Psycho scene, including rain jacket get-up and mannerisms. Plus the synchronicity with Huey putting on the American Psycho DVD and doing the same hand gesture as Bale’s character is also great.

Strangely enough, the video ties into a commercial celebrating the 30th anniversary of Huey Lewis’ album Sports, and an awful-sounding parody song (even by Weird Al standards) called “I Want a New Duck.”
