A bantamweight bout has been added to the UFC’s debut trip to Winnipeg. Yves Jabouin (18-8, 3-2 UFC) will take on Dustin Pague (11-7, 1-3 UFC) in the latest edition to the June 15 event. UFC officials announced the bout on Wednesday.
Jabouin is looking to bounce back from a knockout loss at the hands of Brad Pickett at UFC On FUEL TV 5 in September. Jabouin had put together a three-fight win streak prior to the setback, scoring wins over Ian Loveland, Walel Watson and Jeff Hougland.
Pague finds himself in what has to be a must-win situation following two straight losses to Ken Stone and Chico Camus. Pague fights for the first time since fighting three times in a nine week span during the summer of 2012. Pague, a castmember of season 14 of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’, is just 1-3 in his four UFC appearances.
UFC 161 airs on pay-per-view with a main card, and prelims air on FX and Facebook. It eminates from the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and will be headlined by Renan Barao defending the Interim UFC Bantamweight Championship against Eddie Wineland. Anchoring the main event will be a pair of light heavyweight fights as Mauricio Rua takes on Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, and Dan Henderson battles Rashad Evans.
