Dominick Cruz and Kenny Florian got an earful from the UFC light heavyweight champion tonight as Jon Jones uncorked his first substantial trash talk towards Chael Sonnen after being surprisingly quiet up until now.
“Chael Sonnen is a guy who has done steroids throughout his whole career,” Jones told Florian and Cruz. “It’s probably the reason his testosterone is low now.”
Jones also apparently feels Sonnen isn’t made of “that championship stuff,” and called him “weak” among other things.
“I don’t think [taking steroids] is the heart, or attitude, of a champion,” Jones said. “So, that’s what I meant when I said he lacked championship soul.”
