Shia LaBeouf To Feel Brad Pitt’s Fury In David Ayer’s WWII Drama

Casting News, News

Okay, it’s like this. Shia LaBeouf is a talented young actor that seems to have been pushed down the throats of many moviegoers in a You’re Going to Love Me way or else. I blame Steven Spielberg to a point with Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of Who Cares, Eagle Eye, and Rear Window for Teenagers.

From his days as a Disney Channel TV star on Even Stevens to the Disney movie Holes and those godforsaken Transformers movies it seems that LaBeouf has been trying to get to the top in record pace.

But belittling the films (ahem, the Transformers series) that gave you a cache of cash, to publicly announcing that you’d be willing to do live sex in a Lars Von Trier film shows that you’re now willing to forgo commercialism in sake of art.

Be it a good taste in projects or a strong agent, LaBeouf has recently worked with John Hillcoat (Lawless) and Robert Redford (The Company You Keep), and it looks like he’s about to join Brad Pitt in David Ayer’s World War II drama Fury (Variety reports).

The film, which has already been acquired by Sony for a fall 2014 release, has Pitt playing “Wardaddy” leading a five-man tank crew locked in battle against a desperate German army near the end of the war. LaBeouf will play one of the five soldiers in the crew.

Production is set to begin this September and the film will land in theaters on November 14, 2014.
