In lieu of its upcoming theatrical trailer, Warner Bros. Pictures has released the first poster for Alfonso Cuarón’s Gravity, starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney.
Opening in theaters on October 4, this sci-fi thriller focuses on Dr. Ryan Stone (Bullock), a medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, along with Matt Kowalsky (Clooney), a veteran astronaut in command of his last flight before retirement. But during a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone with no way to communicate with Earth.
This is a film I’ve been very anxious about for 2013. Cuarón was snubbed when it came to his last feature, Children of Men, starring Clive Owen, but from what I’ve read already about the production and what Cuarón wants to accomplish in terms visually makes me optimistic that he will reach new heights in the world of cinema this year.
