As seen on last week’s TNA Impact, former TNA World Heavyweight Champion Austin Aries played his heel character a little too well when he got into ring announcer Christy Hemme’s face, in more ways than one. The video and story have been making the rounds for a full week with people’s reactions ranging from wanting Aries fired to shrugging off as a heel being a heel.
It is now being reported that Austin Aries was hit with a “severe fine” by TNA this week for his actions. Aries (real name Dan Solwold) also apparently reached out to Hemme & apologized privately, stating that he got caught up in the moment and indeed crossed the line while performing his arrogant heel character. It has not been released how much Aries was fined or if he will see any on-screen punishment but apparently Hemme was satisfied with the apology.
