Newly clean and on the comeback trail, wrestling legend Jake “The Snake” Roberts stated in a recent interview that he WILL be in the 2014 WWE Royal Rumble. Roberts said,
“I’m announcing that right now. I’ll be in the Royal Rumble next year, count on it… I worked too hard in this business to go out that way. So I guess we’re going to have to take a victory lap. I’m definitely coming back.”
Roberts has lost over 50 pounds (and counting!) since moving into Diamond Dallas Page’s “Accountability Crib” and is in the best shape both mentally and physically in over a decade. He says he doesn’t want to remembered as the guy from “Beyond The Mat” but as the star from the 80s & early 90s.
Harrak’s Hit: When I interviewed Roberts & DDP a few months ago about a potential return to the ring and while Roberts said he was taking life one day at a time, it was pretty obvious that he really wanted to be remembered for the worker and incredible wrestling mind he is and not for the demons that have plagued him for decades. I really hope this comes to fruition as a Jake “The Snake” surprise entrant in the Rumble would be phenomenal.
