Push to Legalize MMA Stalls in New York…Again

News

Once again, it’s “wait ’til next year” for MMA fans in New York State. The sport has once again hit a roadblock in the State Assembly as speaker Sheldon Silver tables the vote before a full vote could happen before the current Assembly session concludes tomorrow.

New York remains the only state in the union that has yet to have legalize the sport professionally. While it will one day come to fruition that a Madison Square Garden UFC event will happen, don’t expect it in 2013. Or probably not at all, as long as Sheldon Silver is in office.
