CB’s Slant: Sometimes It IS The Fans’ Fault (Bray Wyatt, Husky Harris)

Columns, News, Top Story

Last night on Raw, Bray Wyatt and the Wyatt Family finally debuted after weeks of hype in the form of expertly done promotional videos that looked like they were extra scenes from the House of 1,000 Corpses / Devil’s Rejects franchise.

However, despite all of the buzz surrounding the Wyatts before they appeared on Raw to brutally attack Kane, the Baltimore crowd couldn’t help themselves once Bray Wyatt was there in the flesh.

“Husky Harris…..Husky Harris…..”

While I fully understand that WWE is to blame for originally saddling Wyatt with the awful Husky Harris moniker, I also can’t help but blame this Baltimore crowd for trying to undermine what is actually a character change for the better. In this case, the man behind Bray Wyatt should have been given a fresh look and a clean slate, and this is one time where I would have liked the crowd to suspend a little bit more disbelief than they did last night.

Ultimately, I’d like live audiences to give the Wyatt Family a chance and see how this storyline unfolds over the next few weeks before going rogue on the whole thing.

As for WWE, if you see potential in a young member of your roster, maybe this will be a reminder to you as to how lasting first impressions can be in this day and age.

That’s all from me — CB.
