If you didn’t watch Monday Night Raw last night or read Justin Czerwonka’s recap and Scott Keith’s weekly SmarK rant, then you missed John Cena selecting his opponent for WWE’s annual summer spectacular, SummerSlam.
With the WWE roster congregated at the top of the entrance ramp, Cena went through the likes of Heath Slater and 3MB before getting to serious challengers like Randy Orton and Chris Jericho. He finally appeased the “WWE Universe” (or in this case the Internet) and selected Daniel Bryan much to the delight of the fans in attendance. “YES! YES! YES!”
This is a new main event match-up for Cena, but it won’t be the first time these two superstars have met inside a WWE ring. They actually squared off against one another back in February 2003 on the syndicated Velocity program, back when John Cena wasn’t “Super Cena” and Daniel Bryan had no facial hair and went by Bryan Danielson.
