Disc News: Mystery Science Theater 3000 Launches 25th Anniversary Collection

Disc Announcements, News

Has it really been 25 years since Joel Robinson was launched into space as part of a cruel experiment to see what happens when you see too many bad movies? People who twisted the rabbit ears were able to receive KTMA in the hinterlands of Minnesota and see the show that turned talking at the movies into an art form. Instead of Volume XXVIII, the upcoming boxset will celebrate this historic occasion with Mystery Science Theater: 25th Anniversary Edition. DVDEmpire posted an early listing on their website. The boxset will mark the arrive of four new to DVD titles: Moon Zero Two (season one), The Day the Earth Froze (Season 4), The Leech Woman (Season 8) and Gorgo (Season 9). That’s the usual four titles, but there’s a special bonus for this collection. The Joel to Mike swap will take place with a double feature of Mitchell and The Brain That Wouldn’t Die. The massive boxset is due to arrive on November 19 with more unannounced bonus features.
