Bob Sapp. Yes, he lost again.

News

Bob Sapp, who at one time in his career was one of the most popular fighters in Japan during the heyday of the PRIDE promotion, continues to make a mockery of himself as he has now lost twelve fights in a row following another loss yesterday in Brazil.

Sapp was defeated by Edson Franca on Thursday in a fight card in Fortaleza, Brazil. Franca took Sapp down in and forced him to submit due to strikes in just 35 seconds. It was Sapp’s quickest loss since a 12-second loss to Soa Palelei in May 2012.

Sapp hasn’t won a fight since March 2010, and after a serious start to his career when he went 9-2-1 over his first twelve fights. He event fought PRIDE champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, which was a memorable bout.

However, he is just 2-16 over his last 18 fights. And, yet, promoters will continue to give him a paycheck as he makes a fool of himself and the sport. And while this is hardly groundbreaking news, I’m sure we will see another story much like this one in the near future.
