Michael Chandler and Eddie Alvarez had what many thought was the fight of the year on November 19, 2011, as Alvarez became the first man in Bellator to defeat Alvarez (to that point the company’s only lightweight champion as well).
Unfortunately it happened on the same night as Shogun Rua vs. Dan Henderson’s five round war at UFC 157.
With the news that Chandler and Alvarez are rematching on the first Bellator PPV, it’s time to take a look back at their first fight.
