Sarah Kaufman pulled from UFC Fight Night 27 card

News

With UFC Fight Night 27 taking place in just over a week from now, Sarah Kaufman (16-2, 0-0 UFC) has been officially pulled from the fight card after the search for an opponent came up unsuccessful. Kaufman confirmed the news on her Twitter account on Monday after an initial report from MMA Junkie.

Kaufman was slated to meet Sara McMann at the event, which would have been her debut in the UFC. McMann was forced out of the bout due to personal reasons, and the long search for a replacement came up short when it came to getting prepared for the Aug. 28 event. Kaufman will be rescheduled for an upcoming event.

Kaufman, a former Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Champion, was looking to make it back-to-back wins after defeating Leslie Smith at Invicta 5 in April. Kaufman vs. McMann was set to be a part of the night’s main card on FOX Sports 1, but due to the cancellation, a bout from the preliminary card will be bumped up to the main card.

UFC Fight Night 27 takes place from the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. A five-round welterweight bout will headline the event as former Interim UFC Welterweight Champion Carlos Condit squares off with Martin Kampmann in a rematch of their April 2009 bout.
