ROUND 1- Tavares starts with an instant leg kick. McDaniel in a southpaw stance and Tavares lands another leg kick. Tavares with a head kick then another leg kick. Tavares with another leg kick. McDaniel lands a big left hand but misses on a combo as they tie up against the cage. They battle for position against the cage as McDaniel looks to get a takedown. They break as Tavares escapes. Tavares backs McDaniel up with a combo. Tavares comes forward but McDaniel backs up to avoid punches. Tavares misses a big head kick. McDaniel lands a few punches. Tavares gets a right hand landed. Tavares with a body kick and McDaniel goes down and Tavares lands a punch and gets back up. McDaniel back up and Tavares lands a punch. Tavares with a combo and McDaniel tries a takedown but can’t finish it off. They battle against the cage and McDaniel lands a knee to the groin. Quick break in the action and they split. Tavares with a leg kick. Tavares just misses a teet kick to the face. McDaniel with a front kick to the knee. Tavares backs McDaniel up with a combo. McDaniel lands a combo and they clinch up. Tavares pushes the fight against the cage with underhooks. Tavares has double underhooks and lands a knee. Tavares lands another knee. They break. Tavares with a body kick and just misses a big head kick as the round ends. 10-9 Tavares.

ROUND 2- Tavares with a leg kick to start the round. Tavares lands a combo that ends with a body kick. Tavares with a right hand and McDaniel stumbles. Tavares with a body kick and McDaniel goes down after a left hand from Tavares. Tavares lands a counter right hand that backs McDaniel up. Tavares with a body kick and then both land punches which allows McDaniel to get the fight down and is in Tavares’ guard. McDaniel tries to posture up and Tavares gets back to his feet and they clinch against the fence. Tavares pushes McDaniel up and back into striking distance. Tavares with a leg kick and just misses a head kick. Tavares drops McDaniel quickly with a left hand. Tavares misses a front kick to the head but lands a side kick to the body. Tavares with a body kick and McDaniel tries to grab the leg but can’t get it. Tavares with a left hand. McDaniel misses a kick and Tavares counters with a leg kick. McDaniel lands a left hand and they clinch. Tavares gets a quick takedown and McDaniel tries to reverse but Tavares gets to his feet. McDaniel remains on his back and eats some leg kicks. Dan Miragliotta brings McDaniel back to his feet. Right hand by Tavares forces a tie up and the round ends. 10-9 Tavares. 20-18 Tavares.

ROUND 3- Tavares attacks the body to start the round. McDaniel lands a nice left hand that Tavares eats and they tie up against the cage. Tavares has McDaniel against the cage and Tavares lands knees. They break. McDaniel lands a head kick and Tavares checks it. Tavares then accidentially kicks McDaniel low and McDaniel goes down in pain from the groin shot. Time for a small break in the action as McDaniel recovers. The fight resumes. Tavares with a body kick and McDaniel fires a kick back himself. Tavares sends McDaniel backwards with a double jab. Both trade punches and McDaniel gets a takedown and is in half-guard. Tavares has an arm of McDaniel but he gets it loose. McDaniel with a body punch. McDaniel tries to transition and pass guard but Tavares keeps him in position. Tavares looks to get an arm loose and goes for a kimura but McDaniel knows it’s coming. Tavares rolls but McDaniel ends up in his guard. Tavares looks to get his legs up for a triangle but McDaniel sees it coming and blocks it. McDaniel softens Tavares up with punches. Tavares tries to push off but McDaniel gets back into guard. McDaniel with body punches. McDaniel looks to set up an arm-triangle but can’t pass the guard. McDaniel tries to mount but Tavares blocks it. McDaniel looks like he’ll ride out the round with punches from the top which he does. We are heading to the judges. 10-9 McDaniel. 29-28 Tavares.

Takeya Mizugaki vs. Erik Perez

Referee: Gary Copeland

ROUND 1- They touch gloves to start the fight. Perez lands a head kick and Mizugaki counters with some punches. Big left hand from Perez eaten by Mizugaki. They trade punches ending with a right hand from Perez. Perez with a leg kick. Perez with a right hand and Mizugaki lands a left hand. Perez with a body punch. Perez with a flying knee followed by a big right hand. Perez ducks a punch from Mizugaki and lands a right hand. Perez with another flying knee. Mizugaki backs Perez up with a combo and Perez comes back and gets a takedown. Perez tries to fully extend Mizugaki on the ground. Perez is bleeding from the nose. Perez switches to a guillotine but Mizugaki gets to his feet. Perez goes for another takedown and gets it. They get to their feet and Mizugaki pushes Perez against the fence but they break. Mizugaki with a body kick and Perez grabs the leg and pushes the fight against the cage. Perez tries to get Mizugaki down and does after a struggle. Perez lands a knee as Mizugaki gets to his feet. Both miss on punches. Perez lands some punches and Mizugaki counters with a nice takedown. Mizugaki spins to the back and is looking to lock in a rear-naked choke. Perez defending well. Mizugaki with a knee to the face. Perez with some body punches. Perez goes for a takedown and finishes it for a moment but they get up to end the round. 10-9 Perez.

ROUND 2- Perez starts with a body kick and misses a flying knee. They trade combinations. They trade punches back-and-forth as both look for an opening. Perez misses a spin kick. Both miss on punches. Mizugaki lands a straight right hand and then another. Perez misses a head kick. Perez goes for a takedown but can’t complete it though he lands a knee on the break. Mizugaki with a knee to the body and Perez pushes him against the cage. Perez lands a right hand as they break. Perez with a front kick and Mizugaki counters with a right hand. They trade punches again. Mizugaki drops for a takedown but it is defended. Perez lands a big right hand to the shoulder of Mizugaki. They trade combos and Mizugaki lands a nice left hook. Perez puts this fight against the cage and goes for the takedown but it is blocked. Perez still working to get this fight to the mat but Mizugaki defends well from his knees. They get up and Perez lands a knee to the body against the cage. Mizugaki with a big straight right hand. Perez misses a combo. Perez with a flying knee followed by a push kick. Perez misses a head kick. Perez with a momentary takedown towards the end of the round. Another close round. 10-9 Perez. 20-18 Perez.

ROUND 3- This fight could still be up for grabs as we head to the final round. Perez starts with a leg kick. They trade punches on the inside and neither man is backing down. Perez with a front kick and Mizugaki lands a counter punch. Perez misses a right hand but lands a front kick. They trade fast combos in close range and Mizugaki gets a quick takedown but they get up. Mizugaki lands a knee to the head and they split. Perez misses a head kick. Perez drops down for a takedown and gets it and attacks the body with punches. They get to their feet and Perez tries to spin to the back. They battle for position against the cage. Mizugaki gets a takedown and is on top of Perez. Mizugaki back into guard and lands some punches from the top. Mizugaki tries to move to the back and get hooks in. Mizugaki gets the rear-naked choke in and has it tight but Perez manages to escape. It was in very deep and Perez looked almost out. They get to their feet and battle against the cage and Perez gets a takedown. They stall on the ground and Perez is looking to drag Mizugaki into guard. They get to their feet and both are trying to get this fight back down. Both are very tired. Mizugaki almost had this fight won with the choke, no idea how Perez escaped it. They clinch against the cage and break with wild combinations as both land with a flurry to end the fight. Mizugaki’s round but I think Perez won the fight. 10-9 Mizugaki. 29-28 Perez.

Court McGee vs. Robert Whittaker

ROUND 1- A battle between two former winners of “The Ultimate Fighter”. McGee attacks with a quick body kick following a touch of gloves. McGee tries a takedown but it is defended. McGee misses on a right hand. McGee with a head kick that is checked. Whittaker lands a couple of left hands. McGee with a leg kick followed by another. Whittaker with a left hook. McGee with a body kick and Whittaker lands a left hand at the same time. Whittaker with a left jab. McGee lands a leg kick. Whittaker attacks with a combo. McGee with a pressure combo and rocks Whittaker. McGee lands another combo and ends with a leg kick. Whittaker lands a nice right hand. Whittaker with a left hand. McGee goes for a takedown but eats a left hand that briefly drops him. McGee back to his feet and lands a series of kicks. Whittaker backs McGee up with a left jab. They trade punches and McGee lands a leg kick and a jab. Whittaker with a left hand and McGee gets a quick takedown. They get up and break. Whittaker misses an uppercut and McGee is bleeding. McGee with a leg kick followed by a left hand. McGee misses a right hand. They get in close range and both land short punches. Whittaker with a right hand followed by a left as McGee rushes in. McGee goes for a takedown but it is defended. McGee misses another takedown as the round ends. Close round. 10-9 Whittaker.

ROUND 2- The opening round could have gone either way but they come out for round two. McGee quickly rushes forward and looks to apply pressure. McGee with a body kick but misses on some punches. McGee lands a spinning back fist. McGee with a body punch. Both land punches but McGee gets the better of it. McGee forcing Whittaker to the outside. McGee lands a big right hand and Whittaker is stunned. McGee lands more punches but Whittaker survives. McGee lands a left hand that stuns Whittaker again. He recovers. McGee goes for a takedown but they tie up against the cage. McGee with an elbow as Whittaker escapes and it hurts Whittaker. McGee shoots for a takedown and gets it briefly and briefly takes the back before Whittaker escapes. McGee attacks the body. Whittaker lands a short right elbow. McGee misses a body kick. McGee with a left hand and ends the combo with a body kick. McGee misses on some Sweet Chin Music. McGee shoots and has Whittaker against the cage but Whittaker defends well and forces an escape. McGee is now cut under his right eye. McGee with a head kick and Whittaker lands a left hand. They both exchange punches. They trade again. They trade yet again at close range. McGee with a leg kick and Whittaker fires back with a right hand. McGee rocks Whittaker with a combo. Whittaker with a left hand. McGee gets a takedown stuffed. Whittaker fires off a landing combo and the round ends. Another good round of action. 10-9 McGee. 19-19.

ROUND 3- This could be anyone’s fight as we head to the final round. McGee quickly takes the center of the Octagon. Whittaker with a left hand. Whittaker starts with a right elbow and ends with a left hand on a nice combination. They trade in close range and McGee lands a body kick. McGee with a spin kick to the body of Whittaker. McGee with a leg kick. McGee stuns Whittaker with a right hand. McGee with a body kick. Whittaker misses an elbow and McGee makes him eat some body punches. Both land left hands at the same time. Whittaker connects with a nice one-two combination. Both land at close range. A nice striking battle we have going on here. McGee misses a body kick. Both land a nice series of punches but Whittaker comes out stronger. McGee starts to get his combos geared up. Whittaker misses a big elbow. McGee with a spin kick that lands softly. McGee with a left hand. McGee misses a combo. Whittaker with a left hand. Whittaker bleeding now. Both land close but McGee got his strikes in stronger. McGee with a body kick as he starts to turn it on late. One minute left. McGee misses a big right hand but he is pushing the pace. McGee lands a short uppercut. Whittaker lands an elbow and escapes close range. McGee with a leg kick. McGee with a big right hand followed by a close left. McGee with another overhand right. The crowd goes wild with ten seconds left and they brawl big time to end the fight. Nice exchanges to end a close round and close fight. This could go either way but I have McGee winning this fight. 10-9 McGee. 29-28 McGee.

Kelvin Gastelum vs. Brian Melancon

Referee: Rob Hinds

ROUND 1- Gastelum fights for the first time since winning TUF 17. They touch gloves to start. Melancon fires off a combo to start. Gastelum looks to land a left hand but Melancon backs him up with right hands. Melancon misses on some punches and Gastelum gets a takedown. They get to their feet and Gastelum lands some elbows. They break. Melancon with a body shot. Gastelum using solid footwork to start. Gastelum gets a momentary takedown but they’re back up. Gastelum with a head kick that is checked but he ends with a combo. Melancon just barely connects with a left hand. Gastelum with a body punch and then lands a combo. Gastelum then drops Melancon with an uppercut and quickly jumps on the back of Melancon and locks in the rear-naked choke. It is in deep and Melancon taps out! Big win for Gastelum as he submits Melancon after knocking him down.

Donald Cerrone vs. Rafael Dos Anjos

ROUND 1- Dan Miragliotta oversees the night’s co-main event. Big fight at lightweight here. Cerrone fires off with a leg kick and then goes to the head but it is checked. Dos Anjos comes back with a body kick. Cerrone with a short knee. Dos Anjos with a left hand. Cerrone lands a body kick and Dos Anjos fires back. Both land big punches. Dos Anjos with a leg kick. Cerrone with a push front kick. Cerrone lands a right hand. Cerrone with another push front kick and Dos Anjos lands a leg kick. Cerrone backs him up with a combo and lands a knee to the body. Dos Anjos goes for a body kick but Cerrone catches the leg and lands a right hand. Cerrone with a leg kick and lands a knee. Dos Anjos with a left hand and a body kick. Cerrone with a front kick. Dos Anjos briefly drops Cerrone with a left hook and rushes in and gets a takedown. Dos Anjos on top and Cerrone locks in a triangle but Dos Anjos escapes. Cerrone moves on the ground but has Dos Anjos in his guard. Dos Anjos lands from the top and Cerrone moves his legs in for either a choke or an armbar. Dos Anjos tries to pass and lands some ground-and-pound. Dos Anjos with some elbows. Dos Anjos with another elbow. Dos Anjos with another big elbow from the top followed by another. Dos Anjos lands another one. Dos Anjos with one final big elbow as the round concludes. 10-9 Dos Anjos.

ROUND 2- Cerrone could use a strong round here. They trade leg kicks to start. Dos Anjos with a body kick and Cerrone counters with a leg kick. Dos Anjos with another body kick. Dos Anjos with a body shot and just misses a right hook. Dos Anjos with a leg kick. Cerrone with a leg kick. Dos Anjos with a left hand and lands a knee and then a nice body kick. Dos Anjos with a combo to the body. Cerrone with a teet kick. Cerrone goes in for a takedown and gets it and is on top of Dos Anjos. Cerrone in the guard and looking to transition. Dos Anjos has Cerrone’s neck. Cerrone looks to pass guard and into side control or maybe transition to Dos Anjos’ back. Cerrone has the neck but lets go. Dos Anjos gets the fight back to the feet. Dos Anjos goes for a takedown of his own but it is defended. Cerrone lands a knee on the break. Cerrone with a left hand that lands. Dos Anjos with a big body kick. Dos Anjos misses a standing elbow. Dos Anjos goes for another takedown and gets it. Dos Anjos is on top and lands some body shots. Cerrone tries to set something up with his legs but Dos Anjos has good control on the mat. Ten seconds left but not much happens to end the round. 10-9 Dos Anjos. 20-18 Dos Anjos.

ROUND 3- Cerrone likely needs a finish in this round. Touch of gloves to start the final round. Cerrone with a big right hand. Cerrone with a huge leg kick that causes both men to stumble. Dos Anjos counters with a head kick. Dos Anjos with an inside leg kick. Cerrone fakes with a takedown but lands a right hand. Dos Anjos misses a flying knee. Cerrone with a leg kick. Cerrone then lands a knee and Dos Anjos lands a leg kick. They trade body shots. Cerrone with a combo ending with a body kick. They trade at close range. Cerrone with a body kick and Dos Anjos misses a left hand. Dos Anjos goes for a takedown but it is defended. Dos Anjos still working for it but Cerrone is solidly on his feet and lands a body shot. They break. Cerrone with a leg kick. Dos Anjos with a right hand. Cerrone with a step inside knee. Cerrone with a leg kick and then a head kick. Dos Anjos is cut open and goes for a takedown but it is stuffed. Cerrone with a step knee followed by another. Cerrone is the one controlling this round. Cerrone with a body kick. Cerrone with a leg kick. Dos Anjos whiffs on a combo. Dos Anjos gets a nice right hand in and a head kick. Cerrone presses forward and Dos Anjos runs back as the fight ends. Cerrone has that round on my scorecard but I think too little, too late. 10-9 Cerrone. 29-28 Dos Anjos.

Carlos Condit vs. Martin Kampmann

ROUND 1- The rematch is underway as Herb Dean officiates the night’s five-round main event. Condit looks in amazing shape. Both quickly take the center and Kampmann goes right for the takedown but it is defended. Kampmann tries a trip and gets it and the fight goes to the ground. Condit tries to use the cage to roll out and is looking to grab a leg. Kampmann gets back in Condit’s guard. Kampmann tries to land from top but Condit is defending it. Condit back to using the cage to attempt to roll out but Kampmann stands up and lands some punches. Kampmann with a right hand. Condit escapes to his feet and Kampmann gets a suplex to the ground and has the back. Kampmann tries to get a choke in but Condit reverses and ends up on top and lands from the top to the body. Kampmann gets to his feet and they battle against the cage. Kampmann with a knee and Condit tries to cause separation. Condit with uppercuts to the body and Kampmann gets another takedown and is in the guard. Condit looks to go for an arm and lands some punches from the bottom. Condit working hard from the bottom and they get to the feet. Condit lands some elbows as they break. Condit misses a spinning roundhouse kick. Condit lands a left hook which forces Kampmann to go for the takedown which he gets. Kampmann lands from the top and the round comes to an end. 10-9 Kampmann.

ROUND 2- Kampmann with a left hand to start the second round but Condit comes back with a head kick. Kampmann goes for the takedown but it is defended and Condit misses a spin kick. Condit lands a left jab. Condit with a leg kick but Kampmann lands a left hand. Condit lands a combo finished with a leg kick. They tie up and break and Kampmann lands a combo. Kampmann goes for another takedown but Condit makes him eat a knee. Condit lands a nice combo. Kampmann goes back for a single-leg takedown and Condit counters with a takedown attempt of his own. Condit has the back of Kampmann and lands an elbow as they break. Condit lands a nice combo. Kampmann lands a left hand. Condit with a knee. Condit with a leg kick. Both exchange combos and Condit lands a nice right hand and then follows with a body kick. Condit with a right hand. Condit finishes a combo with a big head kick and is opening up big time. Condit with a left hand but Kampmann gets a combo in. Condit with a spinning back fist that just lands. Kampmann goes for another takedown but Condit defends it against the cage. Condit with body punches and Kampmann misses the takedown and Condit gets the back before they break. Condit presses forward with a combo and lands a kick combo. Kampmann again goes for a takedown but it is stopped. Round ends big for Condit. 10-9 Condit. 19-19.

ROUND 3- Kampmann starting to show some wear-and-tear of the fight. Condit with a nice front kick and then a few punches. Condit with a spin kick that misses. Kampmann rushes in with a combo and goes for a takedown but nothing. Condit with a head kick. Kampmann ducks a punch from Condit and gets a takedown. Condit looks to use the cage to get back to his feet. They get up and Condit lands some short punches. They break. Condit with a Superman elbow. Condit with a double kick on Kampmann. Condit presses forward with a combo and Kampmann is cut open. Condit with a right hand. Condit with a lunging leg kick. Condit lands a big combo. Condit ducks a right hand from Kampmann and lands a head kick. Condit is firing away with a lot of confidence. Kampmann is badly bleeding. Condit has Kampmann on the defense. Kampmann with a body kick but Condit lands a right hand to counter. Condit lands some nice punches that puts Kampmann on the run. Condit opening up big time and the crowd begins to go wild. Condit is landing everything and Kampmann tries a desperation takedown. Condit gets a choke and Condit reverses into a rear-naked choke but Kampmann escapes. Condit lands more ground-and-pound and is looking for the finish. Condit has the back of Kampmann. Kampmann gets up but eats some right hands. Condit with a huge round. 10-9 Condit. 29-28 Condit.

ROUND 4- Condit has the upper hand coming into the fourth round. Kampmann goes for a quick takedown and he trips Condit but Condit gets back up. Condit with a head kick as the crowd chants for him. Condit hurts Kampmann with a right hand and Condit is firing away. Condit drops Kampmann with a knee after some punches and Herb Dean steps in and stops the fight. Big win by Carlos Condit! It was a combo that hurt Kampmann and Condit went for the kill as he had Kampmann in trouble and three knees finished Kampmann off.
