Michael Bisping Injured – Lyoto Machida vs. Mark Munoz Scheduled For UFC Fight Night Manchester Instead

News

Michael Bisping is expected to be out for at least three months, potentially to six, as the UFC announced he is withdrawing from a scheduled fight with Mark Munoz at UFC Fight Night 30 on October 30th.

He is being replaced by Lyoto Machida, making his debut at middleweight. Machida had been scheduled to face Tim Kennedy at Fight for the Troops 3 in his middleweight debut. No replacement opponent for Kennedy has been announced yet; recently released Yushin Okami would’ve been perhaps a great fit for that card.

Machida and Munoz do have some history together; Munoz is a former training partner of Anderson Silva and formerly trained with the Nogueira camp.
