Murtz On The Scene: Exclusive Tour Interview With So You Think You Can Dance 10‘s Aaron Turner & Jasmine Harper

On Saturday I had the chance to interview So You Think You Can Dance 10‘s Aaron Turner & Jasmine Harper on October 5, 2013 just before their Live! Tour Stop at Casino Rama in Orillia, Ontario.

While I had previously interviewed Aaron and Jasmine at their finale (where they were announced at this season’s runners-up) I couldn’t wait to catch up with the two tallest dancers on the cast again and find out how tour life has been for them both.

Given where they finished, there is no doubt that Aaron and Jasmine were two of the most popular dancers on the show this year and their maturity was evident in every performance that they did together.

Aaron’s versatility was his primary strength on the show. Coming from a tapping background, there were questions about how he would adapt to the various styles during the course of the season, but he did this with ease.

Jasmine’s background story was particularly compelling as well as she was the ex-girlfriend of last year’s runner-up Cyrus ‘Glitch” Spencer. Ironically, she also finished second on the show and certainly provided some of the best performances of the season as well, with her “Blurred Lines” routine with all-star Marko Germar (substituted by Curtis Holland on the tour) and her “Girls” routine with Comfort Fedoke (substituted by Amy Yakima on the tour) being particular highlights.

In our interview, we discussed a variety of topics including whether Jasmine has talked to Cyrus since the show, how their height affected their dances on the show and what their favorite performances on the tour have been so far. I also asked them if they prefer Canadian audiences to American ones. Check out the video above!

The So You Think You Can Dance 2013 Live! Tour runs until November 27. For a full list of participating cities and ticket information, please visit fox.com/dance
