On Saturday I had the chance to interview So You Think You Can Dance 10‘s Tucker Knox & Jenna Johnson on October 5, 2013 just before their Live! Tour Stop at Casino Rama in Orillia, Ontario.

Combining to make one of the better partnerships of the season, Tucker and Jenna’s background stories were just as compelling as their performances. Jenna’s sisters had both auditioned for the show before, but had never made it into the Top 20 and she was the first in the family to not only advance into the Top 10 but to also make it to the tour.

In addition, one of the best moments of the entire show was when FOX ran a package before one of Tucker’s performances that focused on the relationship he shared with his father and how supportive his dad was of him and his career.

I was primarily drawn to Tucker and Jenna’s performances before of the way that the differences in their styles seemed to complement each other perfectly. Jenna was certainly the more flamboyant of the two and loved to act out for the camera, while Tucker seemed more reserved and technical.

In our interview, we discussed a variety of topics including the tremendous amount of support they receive from the families and Jenna fills me in on who will be stepping in for All-Star Mark Kanemura on the Lady Gaga routine. I also run my theory about hip hop dancers having an advantage on the show by both of them. Tucker and I also chatted about whether or not his chances would have improved if he had a cool nickname like Fik-Shun and I proceed to run one by him. We also discussed the inclusion of celebrity judges on the judging panel. Check out the video above!

The So You Think You Can Dance 2013 Live! Tour runs until November 27. For a full list of participating cities and ticket information, please visit fox.com/dance
