1. The inclusion of Shawn Michaels just seems to be a constant staple for anything involving HHH. It’s happened twice with Brock, twice with Taker and now here. And ultimately, Shawn will get his spot but will ultimately not matter much as far as the final outcome. Honestly, I don’t think Randy and Bryan really needed any more inclusions in this feud but I don’t necessarily have much of a problem with new wrinkles being added to the story over time. Lord knows they need to do more of that with Punk/Heyman.
2. Speaking of Punk/Heyman. I feel like a spoiled brat anytime I make any complaints about their storyline because it’s Punk and Heyman doing something that was so well thought-out at the beginning. We’ve gotten so spoiled lately because we’ve gotten really great feuds as of late and the show as a whole is heads and shoulders over the product 4-5 years ago. But setting up a match between Punk and Ryback/Heyman isn’t much of a deviation from Night of Champions. Sure, there’s a Cell involved now and there’s now an increased chance that Ryback will screw something up and unintentionally hurt Punk even more. We’ve definitely reached the point where everyone involved is just treading water until Brock returns.
3. These Cena hype videos are making him sound like a zombie, Steve Austin (not the wrestler), Robocop, or Jesus. (You decide which one in the comments below, voting opens now).
4. Miz “tried” to get even with Randy Orton but was thwarted by the power outage-inducing appearance of The Wyatts. I’m still convinced the lights went out to give Miz time to try another swing at locking in the Figure 4. And as you can tell when the lights came back on, Miz obviously gave up.
5. So HHH no-sold that Big Show punch last week, which makes complete sense considering hardly anybody shows up the next week all messed up from a Big Show punch. Although, with all the “reportings” by Cole that HHH broke his jaw, I had a deep desire that HHH would sell the jaw injury by talking like Andre. A man can dream, right?
6. Of course, there’s the Tag Team Championship match to close out the show. Yeah we saw the ending from a mile away but Shield has a tendency to make me not care at all about stuff like that. I don’t know what they put in the Rhodes brother’s water but it probably should be banned by all competitive sporting organizations.
7. Could’ve done without Big Show getting involved at the end but we all kinda figured he would be “Cena-fired” where he would be fired but yet still find a way to travel (despite of being broke) and getting past security. At least when Cody was fired, he had the decency to stay away for the most part (I’m assuming jumping Shield that one time was Goldy’s idea).
8. Not a bad match between Tamina and Brie. I know I make jokes all the time about being surprised that Tamina is still alive anytime she makes an appearance but I am reminded that she can pull out pretty good matches. That is, of course, until she pulls out the tribute Jimmy Snuka splash. I’ve never been a professional wrestling, I’ve only been a fan most of my life, but something looks incredibly wrong when she lands it. Am I the only one that sees that?
9. Cesaro had more trouble swinging Tensai than anybody else. Is the guy made of cement blocks?
10. One of these days, that Los Matadores finisher they do with El Torito is going to get badly botched (looked like it almost did tonight). And when that happens, I’m be right here…waiting. Because I am the hero Pulse Wrestling deserves. Sometimes I’m the hero you guys need too but that’s more of a temporary title that it is a permanent accomplishment. I’m basically a hero for hire that tries not to rant too long about it but ends up doing so anyway in an attempt to be humble about the whole mess. And yes, I read that entire rant in my head as Nic Cage.
