Reigning freestyle wrestling world champion Jordan Burroughs caused quite a stir in the MMA world when he seemingly out of nowhere told the world (via Twitter) that he had no longer had plans to pursue MMA. On a blog post on his web site the champion detailed why MMA wasn’t in his future.
From his post:
“I am a wrestler at heart, always have been and always will be. I began wrestling when I was five years old. I am 25. I have put 20 years into perfecting my craft. Wrestling is my passion. Why would I leave my domain to step into someone else’s?”
