After apparently retiring on Saturday night after a controversial title defense against Johny Hendricks, the rumor mill has been churning as to why GSP wanted to walk away. It wasn’t good enough to just be done with the sport; there had to be something, right? Well, TMZ was the first to break the story, which you can read here.
Per TMZ through anonymous sources GSP apparently has a father who’s dying and an unplanned pregnancy being held over his head like the Sword of Damocles.
La Presse of Montreal is reporting the first part of this is false, per GSP’s sister.
So far we have nothing from the champion, or his camp, in regards to the latter half of TMZ’s statement. We’ll have more as the story apparently breaks.
