Murtz On The Scene – The X Factor Results Finale – Exclusive Red Carpet Interview With Carlito Olivero

Despite fighting his way on a week-to-week basis in the competition, in the end, Carlito Olivero just couldn’t score the final knockout blow he needed.

Last night on the season finale of The X Factor, the Chicago singer was eliminated as the first runner-up as Alex & Sierra were named as the X Factor champions.

Carlito had an impressive run on the program and sung his way to safety on two separate occasions, refusing to give up despite being the prominent underdog on the show.

For the results finale, Carlito performed alongside his competitors in a Top 13 cover of U2’s “One.”

From there, Olivero did a great Christmas rendition of “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home),” featuring some of the sexiest dancers I have ever seen, including my friend and So You Think You Can Dance Canada runner-up Jayme-Rae Dailey and her twin sister Jenny Dailey. The performance typified Carlito’s fun style on stage as he kept opening gigantic Christmas present boxes that would reveal more holiday-themed dancers inside.

When the final three acts were called to the stage, Carlito seemed resigned to the inevitable and almost seemed at peace with the result.

I caught up with the singer after the show to discuss whether he was expecting to win, his plans for the future and who his favorite back-up dancer was this season.
