Holly Holm may want more money than the UFC is willing to offer her at this point to fight, of course, but it doesn’t mean she will sit around and wait for them to match her price.
Per a press release Holm will be facing Juliana Werner for the inaugural women’s bantamweight title in spring 2014. It will apparently be held in Holm’s hometown of Albuquerque, NM.
Werner has an extensive striking background and marks the toughest opponent for Holm to date by far. Werner is a six-time Brazilian National Champion, two-time South American Champion, Pan American Champion, and was runner-up at the WAKO World Championships earlier this year. She’s on a five-fight win streak, notching KO or TKO wins in four of her seven wins.
