Welcome fight fights to our UFC 168 live play by play and results. For this last fight card of the year we’re going to try and do something different by giving each fight its own blog post, to make it easier to read and follow.

Gleison Tibau vs. Michael Johnson
Round 1: Johnson comes out using movement as TIbau is looking for a big strike. Johnson is sticking and moving as he’s looking to not get in close with the much bigger opponent. Tibau is loading up for a big shot as he’s not significantly slower than Johnson. Tibau is landing some nice combinations and grabs the body lock against the cage. Clinch work and Johnson manages to get away. Back to the middle of the cage. Tibau is looking to uncork as Johnson is trying to stay away. Johnson gets wobbled momentarily with a big right for his efforts, though. Johnson is finding a ton of success with his movement as Tibau goes for a takedown by reaching that doesn’t succeed. Johnson’s jab is doing a lot of work for him so far. Tibau gets in on a leg and we’re back up against the cage with 20 seconds left. We’re up against the cage for the rest of the fight. 10-9 Johnson
Round 2: Johnson comes out sticking to the gameplan, sticking and moving. Tibau is being a bit more aggressive as Johnson is looking for the counter. Johnson is doing a good job staying away from the big shots of Tibau, who’s slowing down. Johnson catches Tibau coming in with a left and Tibau goes down. He pounces and it’s stopped.
Michael Johnson wins via TKO (punches) at 1:32 of the second round
This is the second time in the UFC that Tibau has been stopped via strikes. The other time was against Nick Diaz at UFC 65.
