Welcome fight fights to our UFC 168 live play by play and results. For this last fight card of the year we’re going to try and do something different by giving each fight its own blog post, to make it easier to read and follow.

Ronda Rousey vs. Miesha Tate

Round 1: Ronda comes out wanting to throw and gets inside, grabbing the body lock. Tate defends it well with a whizzer and we’re back up. Ronda pins her against the cage as Tate is looking to get inside. Takedown from Rousey and Tate’s on her back. Tate grabs an armbar and Ronda picks her up and tries to slam her. Scramble and Tate grabs the takedown. Ronda is a nightmare off her back as she grabs a triangle and is looking for the tap. She’s landing some big shots off her back as Meisha is trying to back out but can’t. Ronda is angling to work a triangle and Tate is out. Tate is coming at her and ROusey is rocked by a left hook. Tate is landing some big shots and Rousey gets the trip takedown. She’s trying to move to mount and Tate is defending well. Ronda grabs her back and she goes for the armbar. Can’t finish and Tate stands up, letting ROnda come with her. Tate with another takedown try and Rousey with the takedown. 45 seconds left and Tate is eating some punishment. Rousey lets her up and Tate gets on the inside. This is insane; she’s having so much success standing and she’s going for the takedown. Ronda with some big shots and the round ends. Rousey 10-9

This will mark the first time Ronda Rousey has gone past the first round.

Round 2: Rousey is breathing hard but Rousey is coming right at her. Rousey throws her down and Rousey is looking to pass standing. Tate is landing some big kicks from the bottom and is let up. Tate gts inside and Ronda gets the takedown, again. Rousey lets her back up and Rousey with a trip single and grabs back. Tate rolls for a knee bar but Rousey sniffs that out quickly. Tate is back up and Rousey presses her against the cage. Rousey is looking for the trip and is content to wait it out, landing the occasional punch or knee to the thigh. Tate is trying to get away but Rousey casually throws her down. She’s looking for an armbar right now but Tate rolls for one off her back and nearly gets it. Ronda rolls and grabs an arm of her own, letting it to go to take mount. Ronda is pounding her out and rolls for an armbar from mount and Tate survives. Rousey is punishing her with punches as she looks for a reverse triangle. Tate is in deep but she’s defending it insanely well. This is really strong defensive grappling right now. Ronda is softening up the body to try and get her to quit but can’t get Tate to give it. 10-9 Rousey, 20-18

Round 3: Rousey looks gassed but she goes full boar ahead, pushing Tate against the cage. She wants that clinch takedown but Tate is defending it well. Tate rolls through but Rousey grabs an arm, rolls through and gets the tap at :58 of the third round.
