UFC 168 Fight Announcement – Sara McMann vs. Ronda Rousey

News

Dana White just announced that Sara McMann vs. Ronda Rousey will be the next matchup for the women’s bantamweight title. It’ll be the headliner of UFC 170, replacing Daniel Cormier’s light heavyweight debut against Rashad Evans as the main event. Cormier/Evans will now move into the co-main event slot.

McMann is currently on a seven fight win streak to open her fight career, having made her UFC debut at UFC 159 against Sheila Gaff. She won that fight via TKO. McMann won a silver medal in wrestling in 2004 and thus, with Rousey being a bronze medalist in Judo at the 2008 Olympics, marks the first fight in UFC history where both fighters were Olympic medalists.
