Winter Debut of Pretty Little Liars is the #1 Most-Tweeted Season Premiere in TV History With Over 1.3 Million Tweets, Is Tuesday’s #1 TV Telecast in Women 18-34 and Target Millennial Demos

The winter premiere of social media sensation, Pretty Little Liars, became the #1 most-tweeted season premiere in TV history, generating over 1.3 million Tweets by nearly 473,000 contributors, peaking at a max rate of 30,000 tweets per minute. Notably, the series now accounts for the Top 5 most-tweeted TV series telecasts on record, with 8 episodes amassing over 1 million tweets.

Jenn Deering Davis, Co-Founder of Union Metrics said: “Over the past several years, Pretty Little Liars has developed one of the strongest social strategies in the entertainment industry, producing tens of millions of tweets and increasing its Twitter presence to nearly 2 million followers since 2010. Yesterday’s premiere was no exception to the show’s impressive track record, with more than 1.6 million tweets posted from 680,000 different Twitter users, generating a staggering 2.2 billion impressions over the course of the day.”

Pretty Little Liars ranked as Tuesday’s #1 TV telecast in Women 18-34 (900,000/2.7 rating), Viewers 12-34 (2.1 million/2.3 rating) and Females 12-34 (1.8 million/3.9 rating), was the #1 cable TV telecast in Prime in Adults 18-34 (1.2 million/1.7 rating) and the #2 original cable TV telecast in Total Viewers (3.2 million).

At 8 o’clock, Pretty Little Liars was easily the #1 TV telecast in the hour in Women 18-34, Viewers 12-34 and Females 12-34, the #1 cable TV telecast in Adults 18-34 and Women 18-49 (1.2 million/1.7 rating) and the #1 original series telecast across all cable in Adults 18-49 (1.5 million/1.2 rating).

Last summer, based on full-week DVR viewing numbers, Pretty Little Liars soared by
1.4 million Total Viewers to over 4 million (2.6 million to 4.1 million), by nearly 1 million Adults 18-49 (1.4 million to 2.3 million) and by 1 million Viewers 12-34 (1.8 million to 2.8 million).
