Updated Repost: CB Asks: Is there an IWC or no such thing as the IWC?

Columns, News, Top Story

With the official launch of the WWE Network as an over-the-top 24/7 distribution channel on February 24th, I think it’s time to finally retire the term IWC.

After all, everyone who reads this repost or goes onto the WWE App or subscribes to their network or uses the Internet for any reason to look up anything about wrestling and/or comment on an article like this or lives in the year 2014 is essentially part of the now-mythical IWC.

Yup, that includes people like my wife’s friend who loves Sheamus and follows him on Twitter, or my coworker who attends every ROH show, or the dude who TOUTs to say he loves WWE and what it stands for.

The IWC is all of us, and so anyone who says “I disagree with the IWC” or “See, the IWC was wrong again” — and yes, I’m talking to you Starcade — is essentially John Malkovich going down the portal in Being John Malkovich.

The IWC doesn’t exist, and if it did, it was you the whole time.

Happy Friday and Happy Labor Day Weekend everyone! This week on Inside Pulse Wrestling, there has been some discussion in the comments section of several posts where people have used the term IWC.

Of course, IWC is short for “Internet Wrestling Community” and is often used when wrestling fans argue back and forth on something that sparks a debate, such as AJ Lee’s Pipe Bombshell promo on the Divas division on Raw.

So, I pose the question:

Is there actually such a thing as the IWC or not?

No matter where you stand, you’ll need to explain your position by sounding off in the comments section below. I’ll see you there!
