CM Punk did an in-depth interview in Chicago with MMA reported Ariel Helwani covering his WWE contract status, Batista’s return, Daniel Bryan and much, much more.
On his WWE contract, Punk said his contract expires in 6 months. He said he hasn’t decided if he’ll come back to WWE and “Everything is up in the air.” Punk also acknowledged that nobody in WWE management really talks to him, though he and Vince McMahon do text each other at 4:00 am and are on good terms.
On the Ultimate Warrior, Punk said he’d like to induct Warrior into the Hall of Fame, saying he has “a strange kinship” with him and is fascinated by him.
On the WWE Network being good for business or not, Punk pointedly said, “I don’t know. I’ll tell you when I get my PPV checks because I still don’t know what’s happening with that.” He expanded on this, saying, “I don’t know what happens to PPV numbers (PPV buys). Does that reflect my pay? Do I get paid less?”
On Batista, Punk said he respects Batista especially since he’s coming back full-time for two years, and isn’t doing just a part-time return like The Rock did.
On Daniel Bryan’s meteoric rise, Punk said he feels like he’s watching a replay of what happened with him 3 years ago.
On WrestleMania XXX, Punk said he’s not sure who he will be facing despite WWE building to a Punk-HHH match.
On the Michelle Beadle incident at Tribute to the Troops, Punk said Beadle was with a group of friends, walked to him and disrespected him, high-fived her friends and walked away. (Punk’s girlfriend AJ Lee later confronted Beadle over the incident.) He said he is no longer friends with her.
